How the Value & Trend Engine works
The engine examines each team playing on the selected date and looks for qualifying patterns in recent completed matches. Results are descriptive historical signals, not guaranteed predictions.
Reading each trend
Home form / Away formOnly the team's recent matches at the same venue as the upcoming fixture. Away form means away matches only; home form means home matches only.
Overall formRecent home and away matches combined. This is used when there are not enough venue-specific matches to meet your minimum sample.
Exact fixture historyCalculated directly from completed fixtures for the same team, league, season, and venue. Up to the latest 20 matches from the previous two years are considered.
Exact overall fallbackThere were too few same-venue matches, so the engine combined home and away fixtures from the same league and season.
Same league fixture historyWhen the current season is too small, the engine can use recent same-league fixtures across seasons, still respecting home, away, or overall scope.
Same league, previous seasonNo usable current-season sample was available, so the latest stored statistics from the same league and an earlier season were used.
Current league & season statsStored team statistics match the upcoming fixture's league and season exactly.
Cross-competition fallbackThe weakest fallback: broader stored team statistics are used because no suitable same-league record is available.
Strength 58.1 is not a 58.1% predicted chance.Strength is a 0-100 ranking score based on the trend's historical hit rate, sample size, and data freshness. Larger and fresher samples rank higher. The sample-size benefit remains capped so long samples do not overpower quality.
Data selection order
- Same league, season, and venue fixture history.
- Same league and season fixture history with both venues combined.
- Same league fixture history across recent seasons, venue-specific first.
- Stored current league and season statistics.
- Stored same-league statistics from the latest earlier season.
- Broader cross-competition statistics, when explicitly available.
Filters and markets
- Match Results: consecutive unbeaten, win, defeat, draw, winless, or no-draw runs.
- Goals and BTTS: the number of qualifying matches within the available sample; these do not have to be consecutive.
- Clean Sheet / FTS: matches where the team conceded zero or failed to score.
- Min Streak / Count: the minimum qualifying streak or occurrence count required before a trend is displayed. It supports long filters up to 20 matches and also acts as the minimum sample for selecting venue-specific fixture history.
- Top Trends: shows only perfect trends from the selected filter, such as 4/4, 7/7, 15/15, or 20/20. Partial trends like 10/13 or 9/10 remain available under All Trends.
Odds and value
Fair odds are derived from the raw historical rate. Best odds are the highest matching price currently stored. Edge is the historical trend percentage minus the probability implied by those odds. Positive edge is a screening signal, not proof of value or a betting recommendation.
